I RARELY forget to put a knife in my pocket. But when it's happened I had to stop everything I was doing and go get my knives. It felt like I left my arms on my dresser!
I went to the doctors a few weeks ago, and I was feeling preoccupied with the visit. And you got it, I didn't put a watch on, forgot my wallet, forgot my flashlight (always in a sheath on my belt), and forgot my pocket knife. The ONLY thing I was worried about was my knife! I kept feeling my pocket almost getting anxiety attacks! LOL!
I'd rather leave one of my limbs at home Billy!
Always have had a knife of some sort in my pocket. (Of course when I went to school, when one Could, have a pocket knife). It’s them dam Aero Plaines. (after 911). That’s why a Mfg, should come out with a long handle, short blade, non locking folder, and dub it the, “TSA Knife”. So I don’t have to put one in ‘checked’ luggage. Recently I bought a new fancy GEC ‘Exc Whittler’, nice, fancy, slim, so it goes in the pocket of my suite pants. So I don’t feel NAKED, in church. (Which today is, weddings and funerals). I know I am probably breaking all sorts of ‘rules’, but their is only ONE person that knows I have it with. (Some may guess) Soon will come another GEC ‘Hay’n Helper’, which I am going to cut off the blade, so it’s meets the TSA regs, they I will be ABLE to ‘carry on’ again ! Bad enough I have to wear a ‘velcro’ belt, no change in my pocket, no keys, slip on shoes, At least, I’ll have a knife on me. It’s ‘He’, double (*hockey sticks), to sit on a Aero Plane, NAKED !
In an effort to placate my chiropracter I stopped putting my wallet in my back pocket, and sometimes I'll forget and leave the house without it...but not my EDC knife, which I have driven back home to put in my pocket, and still forgot the wallet...! (;-)
Now that I am retired I EDC all four of these. Without at least one of the top two, I do feel naked. I feel uncomfortable and less able to take care of myself. As that saying goes, if I have my pants on, they are on me. The only time they aren't is those rare times I have to go through a metal detector. I haven't flown in over thirty years and don't anticipate ever flying again.

I feel like I'm missing a body part when I don't have a knife on me. I keep a spare in the car just in case I should ever find myself in such a horrid situation.
LOL! That's a good idea Paul! I might do that myself!
Only one spare in the car?
I have a Frost Bowie knife and a machete in my truck. Is that enough?
