Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

If you are a paracord enthusiast, you have to check out Stormdrane.
He has applied more paracord in more ways to more things than just about anyone could ever imagine. His site is a wealth of information. I highly suggest looking thru not only the current info but all the archived info as well.

His site is incredibly informative. It has video tutorials, list sources for more instruction, lists sources for materials and has links to many related and non-related sites.

The Stormdrane blog is killer! I wish he would post more Paul is right check out the archived info a ton of good stuff.

Recently I had the opportunity to get a Paracord bracelet. The one I got came from paracord.com through thier distributor Boker USA.

Its the camouflage model, kind of a muted green with many colors actually then fastened around the wrist with a clip. i will post a pic here here shortly. Its pretty comfortable and would fit in a pack easily, what is your experience? Do you have one or many made up on you? Wear one? Or just have them handy for an emergency?

I make some, Steve.  Usually though, I just carry around a hank in my bag.  Got a couple of hats with paracord hatbands also.

Hey, you guys ever hear of "twine", it's a heavy string. My Grand Paw and I went into the swamp with a ball of "twine" and a ball of lighter string.

I didn't know you made them! Heck I should have asked you to make me one! I just happened to see this one and thought well I should try it....

Sure have Robert, twine is good too. Now that you mention it exactly what is the difference? I mean is one better than the other?

Oh no, Steve, this new Paracord is way better. It's braided, and strong. I'm just saying what we carried in the past.

Well then it is an improvement and you are right I guess its the braiding or twist or something. I can tell you that bracelet is hard as a rock just a little flexible and its gone through two washes to test its capability. I can tell you so far its unchanged! It may be a small amount softer, but honestly not much. Paracord.com is where these came from(it is stamped on the buckle)

If I have time will do a bit of research to see exactly how the paracord itself is made. If you or JJ or anyone else has pictures of what you have or have made please post them. Would love to see it!

I think we have some Para cord on some crawfish traps. One end tied to the trap and the other to a tree or bush. We put about 8 to 10ft. of line on each trap. Next time we run them, I'll try to remember to bring my camera.

I thought about getting one of those bracelets from time to time Steve. If you use it, do you try to re-braid it or just get another?

This one on the finished end, has some "hot glue" to hold it in place. What I have been learning there are ways to knot it so that is does not need glue and it would not have the clasp that mine has.

That being said, at least on mine, if you used it, it might be very difficult to weave back into that exact same shape. But that said, 1 inch =1 foot of paracord so for mine its about 7 feet of usable paracord when undone.

This one is not super expensive and I really just wanted to try it. There maybe a time it really comes in handy.
