Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

What do you have on you right now? Let me see your EDC blade.

Do you ever answer the question of "Do you have a knife on ya?" with "I got pants on don't I."

I would love to see what everyone has in their pocket right now.  No cheating.  Post your every day carry knife and lets see what we all enjoy having on our person.

I like the idea of only having one knife.  After many years I finally decided to check out higher quality knives.  Til then I had seldom owned more than one pocket knife at a time.  So I decided to get ONE nice knife.  Of course after a few months I ended up with 20 or so.  I saw no indication that the number was going to stay there.  So, I started trading and selling knives I didn't carry.  Now I have less than 10 and they are for different things.  I HATE to see knives go uncarried.  But, after going through many knives I now have what I really like. Can't get my EDC down to one though.  I always want at least one little and one larger knive on me.  Anyway, I think one trusted knife is a beautiful thing (when you can find it).  Some like a different knife for every day of the week.  That's cool too.  Of course some have enough knives for one for every day of the year. :)

Yes, yes, I know. I'm very boring. Same knife for EDC every day, month after month. But I can't help it, this thing doesn't want to leave my pocket. We have a "thing" going on.

I just had a look at that. Looks decently priced as well. Next time I order some knifemaking supplies from the US I'll have to check that store out.

I've been playing with making scales for about a year and really like it.  If you are interested the kirinite is only on USAknifemakers.com.  Search "kirinite" and see all the different color patterns.  I like it as a handle material but you need to want a knife that is bright when you use this stuff. :)  I think it's also being used for pistol grips.

Cool. That's a shame about the ironwood scales. Like I said though the Kirinite is very unique. I kind of like it.

Today

Spyderco Chaparral 2

Bottom knife (blade swaped and my scales):  Spyderco Manbug (ZDP-189 modified spine blade and kirinite scales)

Not carrying the top knife in this pic today.

Benchmade Contego and Schrade 885UH

I carry all my collection in rotation. I have no safe queens.

Today I have a Spyderco Chaparral 2 and an Opinel #6.  Sometimes I carry a knife specifically to be used as a "loaner" when someone want's to borrow my knife.  If I don't have a "loaner" on me I offer to cut the thing myself unless I know they know how to use a knife and possibly the quality of the knife I hand them if it's an expensive one.  They you have any emotional value a knife may have. This CAN'T be replaced.  The Opinel is a great "loaner" because it is inexpensive enough to replace if necessary AND it's a knife I enjoy using.  I haven't used this knife that much but have gotten to love the carbon steel they use.  It gets as sharp as you want it to be and holds the edge very well IMO. I also love the simplicity of the knife. The emphasis is put into performance, not appearance or fancy locks.

Carried out to the Farm today: Robeson TL-29 dated 1900-1922

Today out to the farm: I carried my Cattaraugus Equal End Jack with Ebony handle

Yesterday a friend of mine called that he did indeed find a knife of mine in his car (I told him so!).

So today I get to carry that one.

My Zero Tolerance ZT0300 has been on me for the last 6 months. Would like to grab it's little bother, the ZT0350, Just for something a wee bit smaller.

That's a LOT Ivars. Were you going to a collectors meeting or something?

For me today it's the A.G. Russell Titanium Framelock spearpoint and a Schatt & Morgan Gunstock on the belt in a sheath.

Along with my rediscovered silver plated parker 75 I've got a pretty nice office set going.
