Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I saw some OLD jigged bone this week.  I keep hearing that stag is becoming scarce and that is why we are seeing it become thinner with some manufactures.  The reason we are seeing jigging and stag with less "character" than the old days is because the used to cut the handles to fit and then jig.  Now they cut the pieces into slabs, jig, dye and then cut.  This causes the effect of them having to grind to fit, losing that allover feel.

My own opinion, I would pay a couple dollars more for a knife jigged and dyed like these handles.

I also think that the sales would increase making it worth it to the manufacture.

What do you all think?

I love the idea.  I would enjoy speaking to a manufacturer interested in the idea of creating a line of knives made using traditional methods and perhaps even tools, or dies, etc from actual vintage knives of old Sheffield.

Those are gorgeous bones scales.
I would love to have a knife or two adorned in that bone.
