Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

So I picked this up ther other day at an antique store. Never saw one like it before so I grabbed it.  After doing some research it appears to be a black kat type? I think?  It is a mercator made in Solingen Germany.   I am guessing it was some kind of promotional item for a twine company in germany Named Hörz.

Any other info ya guys can give me would be great.  They had it marked for 40, ended up getting it for $35.

Here is an interesting video by my good friend and iKC member Stefan Schmalhaus that goes a long way to explain the information:

I think you made a good and fair deal, on that knife. Real nice.

Thanks for the reply and very cool video.

I was hoping to find out about this knife in particular.  Since it did not have hte Cat on it, if it was still considered a genuine mercator knife and what not.  And the age of this one.  The spacer at the end of mine is red and on the blade it does say Mercator, the other r side says Soligen Germany, the video states it says Germany Soligen.
