Picked this Whittler up Saturday - nice solid knife with nice handles. It is stamped US Classic, Salt River, Ky. It is stamped on one of the small blades China - so where does Salt River, KY come in?

Here is a little background on the US Classic line;
The U.C. Classic is a unique knife. These high quality knives are faithful reproductions of the most sought after antique knives.
Earl Collins, a knife designer, has collaborated with a well-known knife collector from Kentucky. Earl chose his favorite knives from the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. The knives were manufactured by Robeson, Cattaraugus, Remington, Boker, Case and a number of other well-known knife manufacturers. The original knives are worth a fortune and nearly impossible to find.
Mr. Collins then allows the U.S. Classics Manufacturer to dis-assemble the original knives and faithfully reproduce them, down to the smallest detail. The results are beautiful Antique Reproduction Pocket Knives that are reasonably priced. These knives have class, each is faithfully reproduced with long pulls, crimped and slanted bolsters and fancy shields in the handle. The bone handles have been jigged and dyed to match the old colors and textures. Some styles are already sold out and the price is going up, up, up. Until now, the only way to find a U.S. Classic knife was at a National Knife Show.
Each style is produced in a limited production run of 1200 knives.

Everytime I turn around, there is something I have never heard of before in this Knife Collecting. Kinda makes it fun.

I've got a few of them. They're not bad knives. Not necessarily sure of the production limits but many seem to be sold out.

And, this is the first time that I had heard of "U.S. Classic" knives, also. Thanks to J.J. I now know quite a bit more about these knives. Add another manufacturer to the growing list of Rough Rider, Colt, Boker Plus, etc., etc,, etc.!

Thanks Ron, If I remember right they had 2 or 3 there, I should have bought them all. Esp if only a limited # is made for each pattern.

The web page doesn't list them any more, either, Ken.
If you browse the site you may notice similar RR or SW patterns.
Their "Wedge Whittler" is a copy of the MasterCraft "Humpback" whittler, which the guys on Knives Live said was a copy of an old Remmington pattern.
They have a Half Whittler that is the same pattern as a Steel Warrior "Wharncliffe Whittler".
