The frustration of slow times
We have all been there. Life comes along and we experience a slow down or even a complete stop in our knife buying. It takes many forms, health issues, family issues, money issues, and so on and so on. For us it was watching for the new models to come out, an actual physically written down “someday” list and talking with our knife friends. We started by leaving out the last part because it was painful but soon realized that we had the advantage by continuing those discussions. We knew which of the newer models to place it what order of “must have” on our list LOL.
So for those of us that have been there, how did you get through it?

The few times I've had slowdowns, I just look at the knives I already have and enjoy them.....and know there will be a time when the buying will start again. I guess, if I'm following what you're saying correctly. LOL!

You know doing what I do is highly seasonal and very dependent on climate, grain prices, fuel prices, equipment breakdowns, livestock losses...the list goes on.
If I could I would buy almost every knife I see! But sadly not the case and I often go through long stretches with nothing coming in the mail. Luckily for me anyway, I get to look at thousands of knives in a month and like or share or comment on bunches of them! To me it just keeps me close to the knife action.
At some point the buying may pick up and I will go on a spree only to have to stop again too soon. But that is what gets me through the dry times..

I hope, I have not over bought, this year, as last year knife collecting went bad. The USA economy is down, so I feel this is a buyers, market. Prices, will go up. Mark my words, we have more and more collectors joining the hobby everyday but the amount of vintage knives stays, the same. Time will tell, but I think, I am correct on a lot of knives.

Robert, you are right. This has been a big buying year for us also. Mostly because it is a buyers market and we have gotten some deals of a lifetime come our way. This honestly is one of the first years in a long time I remember saying, "we should slow down.... BUT DID YOU SEE THIS DEAL?"

Knife collecting seems to be bigger/more popular than ever. With so much to pick from now it IS hard to slow down. I know the past year has been the biggest buying year for me.....ever!

Still going threw it. health issues and all. Been trying to push my way back in but I get real tired real quick. We only stayed at the Shepherd of the hills thing a couple of hours but we sure did have fun.
