Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

i currently do not use elctro etching, but have been looking into it. i think that etched logos on the side of knife blades look very neat and professional.

I have done my research and found many different manufactures. The "system" i like is the Etch-O-Matic kit from http://etch-o-matic.com/index.html. You not only can do steel, but glass, and cloth material as well. From my understanding you get the ecthing machine, with the solutions and all that. Then you also have to buy the stencil maker to make the custom logos in order to put them on your knife. Thats where it gets expensive.

I would be willing to pay someone who has the stencil maker to make me some stencils of different sizes.

I would like to buy the Etch-O-Matic, but would like to know if anyone else has one and what their opinion is.

does anyone own the stencil maker that would be able to make stencils for me?

Is there a better system out there?

Any help on this subject would be apreciated

i found an answer to my question!!

http://www.erniesknives.com/knifemaker_stencil.html

this company will make a stencil for your logo. for the price of $37 you get a sheet with about 7-8 stencils on it. you can use the stencil over and over again, and get about 100 uses per stencil.

I use an IMG SS-211. Stencils are pretty close in price to what you mentioned. It's an easy process and pretty un-intrusive, I like it better that stamping.
Gary, do you make your own stencils, or have them made? who makes them for you?
Hey Jeff,

IMG makes them for me. It's 40 bucks for set up plus you get 6 stencils on a sheet. Those 6 will last for a very long time, perhaps 100+ uses per stencil x 6.

Kind of a slow response.........................
Hi CJS! I watched the video and went on their website. interesting stuff..looks like u've got it under control..this internet stuff is great..so much great information out there...

are u gonna buy one of the etching machines? if so, which one?
