Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This past weekend, Saturday, a friend who knows that I collect knives called to say he was coming over to give me something he "was sure I would like."

Boy, was that an understatement!

My friend goes to yard and estate sales and had scored a fantastic wooden storage chest similar to the Gerstner wooden tool chests that command very high price$! He had paid a mere $20 for this chest and had purchased it as a gift for me. Wow! Once again proving that even a blind squirrel (me) gets an acorn every now and then!

Here are a few pics. Bear in mind that it is still a work in progress. A few knives have already taken up residence with ample room for many more. I believe that I will use the top area for some fixed blades? I'm still trying to figure out which of my knives will be moved from their current locations.

So, without further ado, here is my new Box Full Of Knives...

This has to be one of the coolest "out of the blue" gifts that I have ever received! As you can see all of the drawers are lined with green felt. The entire box is in perfect, nearly new, condition. It is a welcomed addition to my knife collection and will be a wonderful home to many of those knives.

Isn't it great to have friends like this who not only support and encourage our hobbies, but contribute to them as well.

I love my new Box Full Of Knives!

Thanks for the comment, Steve! This particular box really is beautiful and I am fortunate to have a friend who enjoys a different hobby--scouring garage and estate sales--and yet still thinks of me while he's out there pursuing his passion.

I sure do wish I knew where to get another one just like it, but sadly there are no markings on the box of any kind. The original Gerstner machinist tool chests are the absolute best but are priced a little above my pay-grade. Even the used Gerstners go for several hundred's of dollars.

Following a lead, I went to Harbor Freight to look at their offerings. But their wooden tool chests were of an inferior quality and still cost almost a hundred dollars. I need a couple more like this one!

Cheers, my friend!

these are so nice Ron! ha, ha Steve good point who understands us really?

Wow wow I love it!!
