Yea, who has a great picture with them or their childern and of course a Fish. We could have a judge pick the best picture of the contest. The winner would get a knife of course. Please let me know if ya'll would be interested in it. I think it would be alot of fun. Lets talk the idea up and see what comes of it.

Great Johnny...Cant Wait

Well, the great weather we have been having has led to the streams being down, which meant that the fish would be holed up in the deepest areas along the creek. Also, do to the good weather, there were a ton of people. It was great to see everybody getting out and enjoying the sport, but our old haunt was jam packed with people.

We moved on and fished with very little success. I caught a tiny little trout that was a native. He didn't reach anywhere near the size requirement, so back he went. We fished that spot for about five hours with no luck.

(I took a pic with my phone, but I don't have my phone right now, I'll get it on here ASAP).

It was a beautiful trip and the scenery is always wonderful, the people you fish with make up for the down time too. That night it started to rain, which was a blessing for us. It would fill the streams and wash some of the campers out.

The next morning we headed for a new location and a pretty good hole. We got there and had immediate success.

Here is my cousin Jacob, he would be the victor of the day.

The weather made it tough to get any good photos, there was a fog that surrounded us, which made for a pretty day, but I hard time shooting. We caught quite a few fish out of here, we brought some home and we released a few.

When we got there, we noticed a big spot that was swimming around, we all knew that it would be the trophy trout of this stream, but the big ones never get caught, right ?

Jacob was using a homemade trout magnet combination. We had taken a couple of those rubber trout magnets and pulled them apart, then with my brother's zippo we melted a different color combo back together. I thought it was stupid at the time, but, it work.

Jacob pulled this 19 1/2'' monster out. They get bigger, but I've never caught one bigger. Yet that is.

Wow Johnny, that's a great catch. The terrain is so different from where I live, even the fish. There is no trout in Louisiana. I love seeing the woods and streams from other places. I'm sure ya'll had some good eating threre. What's the name of the stream ya'll were fishing?

Our favorite is a place called Salmon Creek, it gets stalked pretty heavily and is a beautiful location, this time it was a little jam packed with people.

We did are best at Beaver Creek, a place we had never fished before. I'll tell you what, it pays to go and talk to the locals. They directed us to this little hole and we had a blast. I guess we never fished it because it's a little off the beaten path, but again, it made for the best fishing.

Yum, Yum,  Nothing like frsh trout over an open fire

Yea Johnny, how do you northern guys cook ya'll fish? I am sure it's alot different than the way we cook them.

Here is a photo that is a few years old.  When living in Washington State, a friend and I would buy Canadian fishing licenses every year and head out from Neah Bay, Wa through the Strait of Juan DeFuca, into the Pacific, and across the border near Vancover Island, BC in his Trophy.  You could keep two halibut in Canada but only one in the US.  This was my catch for the day.  A 40lb and a 30lb halibut.  The pole on the dock I broke in half on the 30 lber. We caught lots of Ling Cod as well.  We very nearly got run over by a freighter crossing the shipping lane in the dense fog one year.

Man I am really starting to want some fish now

So whats the second prize you say?

Paul, that is a great catch and I want to thank you for posting in the contest. That is a great photo and I want to remind you and everyone that you may post a picture as often as you want and it is not the biggest or most fish that might win but the best fishing photo that apeals to the judges. It might be funny, prety, silly, great, etc. I hope ya'll get the idea. Paul, I am not trying to be little your photo but trying to explain the rules a little more. Thanks again Paul, thats a great photo!
