Event Description

Knife Day is the day to appreciate the knives that folk use on a daily basis. This day is a celebration of this marvellous tool that has been with humans since the dawn of time.

The evolution of knives has been a remarkable feat – from knives made of bone, stone and flint, to modern creations using titanium, bronze, iron and steel. Nobody can deny the knife is one of man’s most useful tools – for cooking, eating, fishing, hunting, and not to forget the oh so handy Swiss Army knife.

To make the most of Knife Day, why not test your knife chopping skills in the kitchen, or buy that knife set you’ve always wanted. Invite family and friends over to compare and swap knives, or get together to clean and sharpen your knives.

Then there’s nothing like having a cake and enjoying a slice by the knife. And instead of wishing one another to have a nice day, why not just say: “Have a knife day!”

Happy National Knife Day to all, & to all a new knife!

(Here's the one I bought today -- an SMKW-exclusive Victorinox Donuts Tinker; photo credit to SMKW, as I haven't received the knife yet to photograph it myself.)

National Knife Day 2021

Happy National Knife Day! Yep, a made-up holiday with no historical roots, but if cupcakes and doughnuts have their day, why not knives?

Enjoying the two new knives I bought to celebrate this year's knife day!

A new addition to my collection of Fox Cutlery "Elite" slim liner lock models:

and, another LionSteel Jack modern slip joint.  This one is dressed in santos wood:

I thought I would live on the edge and take a stab at celebrating knife day with you all. I will be up to the hilt in knife busy work....choiling away at cleaning, cataloging, adding to my "If only I could own one like that" list...stuff like that.

Who knows...if I get all by knife chores done, I just might start up a game of mumbley-peg!

This weekend's carry, as I work around the house doing some much needed deep cleaning & organizing.  Featured are the Leatherman Skeletool (one of my oldest multitools), the Pelican 1920 (an extremely handy size & brightness for working around the shadows of our basement), & my newest purchase, the Spartan Blades Astor (a Les George design that, just like the Zero Tolerance 0909, I had to own -- I love the blade on this thing!!!!!).
