Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I recently posted pics of my new Trestle Pine Grand Portage in old growth ash.  Love the wood covers on it.  Which is why I purchased a Fallkniven TK3 this past January.   Not just any TK3, but the one with the Swedish sea drowned oak scales (black oak).  It has SS bolsters and 2.75" G3 laminate (Super Gold powered steel inner core and VG2 sides) blade.  But it was the wood that caught my eye.

While it is a little larger in overall size than the Grand Portage, it is not that much heavier, weighing in at around 3.3 oz.  The quality of this knife is outstanding (for the price point).

I did add a lanyard after I took these pics, as I tend to carry this one in a pouch and it makes it easier to retrieve the knife from my pocket.  Also put a better (as in much, much sharper and polished) edge on the 3G blade.

My cutting tasks are not very demanding anymore, but so far, the 3G seems to hold an edge very well and a little light stropping (chromium oxide on horsehide) maintains that edge and mirror finish superbly.  This is a really neat knife that I may have overlooked if it had not been for that wood!!

I can definitely see why you were drawn to this one.

That's a beauty Dennis and high up on my wish list . I have the PXL and U1 and love them both . I also don't need a knife for "heavy duty" work but I do like a sharp knife and that 3G does take a fine edge .

Thanks.  I could look at this knife all day long!!   Of all handle material, I really prefer a beautiful wood over all others!   And ... I have some really nice looking ones I'll be talking about in the future.  Right now, I want to spend some time cleaning up a Schrade Walden MIL-K-10043 parachutist's snap blade knife that a good friend's brother sent me.  It was issued to him in the mid-50s.  I was touched that he gave me this knife!
