How about a discussion on Lanyards?

Types of lanyards and how used?

I could use about 4 good lanyards - anybody have some to sell?

How about some pics of knives with lanyards on them?

Careful if you start.  It can get addictive.  When you start accumulating scraps, you'll start looking for other projects, like key fobs...

Viper alarm system.  Don't think I'd fit too well in a Viper.  Lol

Like I said earlier, give a piece of one of the inner strands of paracord.  As long as the lanyard hole is big enough to start with, it should pull through.

J.J. had already mentioned using one or two inner strands of paracord to pull the loop through with. That's what I usually do. But, if you don't have an extra piece to harvest those strands from, you can always use mono-filament fishing line, or a piece of string. Sometimes, though, ya just have to admit that it ain't gonna fit, no way no how!

Good luck, my friend!

Might need to pull a piece of paracord through and tie the lanyard while its on the knife.  OR like Ron and I said before, take the inner strands out and just use the cover.

What kind of damage do you have on the lanyard hole?

what is the best way to get the pre made lanyard through the danged lanyard hole? i tried dental floss but it kept breaking and fear that using wire would scratch my knife.and ideas?
"danged". Guess I really should my good reading glasses.
You know, you can check at the local hardware store for something other than paracord to make a lanyard with.

Thanks JJ - I'll check for something else.

Ken, the cross lanyard I did on my 2011 club knife was made from something different. Try some venetian blind cord.

Funny this topic should come up I did a video on it a few days back:

Thanks Tobias, I saw your video and enjoyed it.
