Hi, thanks for adding me. It looks like a lot of activity here is pretty old. I have been away from the knife world for a while. There used to a club in my area that had monthly meetings and hosted a knife show every year. Now it looks like neither is a thing anymore. I got involved with knifemaking in middle school, which led to a blacksmiths appreticeship, tool and die, and welding, and eventually into millwrighting. I ran an ornamental iron business for close to ten years until finances took me into industry and I spent most of the last 20 years traveling the country building all varieties of manufacturing plants and rebuilding machinery. Now I am finally back in my own shop and getting to play with knives again. Things have changed a LOT in the custom knife world since I had to turn down a different path all those years ago. There is quite a lot to adjust to now, but it seems like knife shows are no longer happening around me- are there still knife shows?  Are there still knife clubs? Is everyone just online? Well I do have better toys to play with now at least... The photo is a folder I made for my dad in my jr year of high school. I got electric out in the shop the following year, and this was the project that led me to finnally buy a drill press

Jason,

Best way to find out what is happening near you https://www.knifemagazine.com/events/map/

There are still knife shows, fewer each year, same with active clubs.

We do have a good deal of older material here, we house an extremely large amount of knife facts and info for research. There are also groups that are currently active and over the years those seem to rotate and change some
