Need help in determining Knife maker Proof Mark?
Can anyone tell me who might have made these knives,
Circa 1970- 1980's

This is going to be a bit more difficult. Do you have any info on the knives, where they were purchased, ect. These are file knives and pretty basic. That stamp could be a hobby maker even

Hi Jan, these came from a man that lived in Bogalusa, Louisiana between 1970 and last 1980's
It is part of his collection that I am slowly researching and selling off for his estate. There are so many fine knives and Im becoming attached to a few of them.
I recached out to the Facebook page of Max Burnett and Im not sure that's him since I thought Bob and Max were from Paris, Arkansas any way, thanks for the help but for now Im hitting a dead end.

Yeah, I like Jan's hobby maker thought, or even a good possibility that it was someone who was going pro with knife making but was likely not at the point of being a full time maker when these knives were made. These knives exhibit a good amount of skill, or at least talent.
The fact there are two knives from the same maker most likely means the man whose estate your helping either liked the makers work so much he bought the second knife later on, or he bought them at the same time, likely due to a good price or connecting with the maker, say at a gun / knife show.
In the former case, the buyer probably would have, at some point, kept the knife maker's contact information (whether it was lost or thrown out at some point is a different story, but if there was a gun safe in that estate, I'd check for the records there). In the latter case, there might still be written or other records, but you might have to look in a different place (like maybe even among photos, maybe even featuring the knives). Of course you might not have access to any of these, but thought it worth mentioning in case you did.
There are, &have been, a lot of knife makers, & I've had difficulty tracking down the makers of some of my knives. Granted, I doubt I'm very good at it, so don't let me have the last word here. But since you have some access to the buyer's estate, you might be able to find the information that way. It's worth continuing the search, at least in my opinion. Good luck.

Well the search is over! I found Max Burnett through a FB link someone sent me. We spoke for a hour and a half.

He is going to dig out Bob's record book and get back to me.
Ive sold 5 of the OGG's so far and down to two 3 folder sets
one in ivory and one in micarta ivory.

Bob Ogg/ Max Burnett update.
I spoke to Max again today and Max sent me some pictures of Bob's Ledger showing the serial #'s and knife data for every knife Bob Made.
This Knife was logged in as one of Bob's personal knives and was most likely traded to the original owner that I received it from.
We talked about printing up the Log Book for the Ogg collectors and there might be a OGG museum in the works. Just talk at this point.

The search is over. I went to Blade Show (first time) and found a dealer who recognized the mark as Alfred Pendray!
these are some of his early works. He was noted as a blacksmith and made horse shoes and used the Old rasps from the filing of the shoes as Knife blades. Hence the fish scale look.
But thats not all!
He is attributed to be the re-founder of Wootz Steel. Google Wootz steel for more info.
