Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I said I'd show another Boker, here it is, and again curious of the type of scales on this knife, bone, stag, or delrin. The material is hard as brick, has some luster, and look and feel as my Case knives with bone scales. With a magnifying glass you can see a natural grain in the scales. Anyway, seeking a more experienced opinion. Note; these images were taken at ISO 3800 because of low light. Zooming will produce a noisy and distorted view. I will post another tomorrow with good light.

am thinking bone Timothy, but a slightly brighter more detailed pic might help. Looks like its in great shape though!

Me too... It's hard material and compared to my case knives with bone scales it compares - somewhat. But, I'm not knowledgeable about Boker and they used many different types of material for handles, as I'm finding out.

I'll take a better image tomorrow and add it to the post.

We have many, more knowledgable Boker Collectors than me. One of them might have an opinion as well.

It does seem too me, at least, that Boker might not have taken the same painstaking craftsmanship as Case - just my opinion - in comparison. Many people probably didn't see the Boker pocket knife as one to collect, but instead as one to use because finding a vintage Boker in nearly unused to mint condition is much harder than finding a vintage mint to near mint Case.

Of course this is somewhat the appeal for me as all my knives growing up were well used. I like the used look...

thats a great point and you might be on to something. Certainly many pure Case Collectors!

Here's a picture of the Boker taken in outdoor light. Looks like bone to me...

I would say bone also.

I'm not sure if bone now. I've recently gotten another Boker that for sure is bone and the feel is much harder and the scales much more coarse. This maybe delrin. At any rate I still like the knife.

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
