I just received a copy of Steve Pfeiffer’s book, “Collecting Case Knives”. This is an outstanding technical reference guide. As he states in his forward, he was trying to take a different tact from previous price guides and books. Well, he was successful and the end product great! Steve explains and defines a very complicated and difficult to at times understand migration and identification of the Case lines of knives. Of course it’s well sourced without a doubt when you dig in. I do not know Steve and have been a fan of Sergeants’ publications but there’s not a real completion in my opinion. Each one should be part of any Case knife collector’s library. They complement each other in a true synergistic fashion.
Thanks Steve – Well done! And thank you too for the comments you are willing to share with us all on iCK.

W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. The Case Halloween Seahorse Whittler depicts a spooky scene around the Bradford plant...

This is off Facebook. I knew I saw where the Seahorse was the Halloween knife this year.

I see where Bro. Mike Bryant got a deal from Becky and the gang at www.shepherdhills.com - I bought a 4.4 inch Case Brothers Barlow single blade there last month for $39.00. Get thier mailings and check thier specials out when you have that itch. They have so many SFO knives just for them when the right time come they dump them. I bought a trapperlock last October before they were released in 2009 throught SH. It was a Halloween knife but I'm glad I got it then. This year I think it's a seahorse whitler..... Halloween! That will send a few folks looking!

I just receved a 5347DAM from www.shepherdhill.com. I have a 1995 5347 D Alabama Damascus whch this is paterned after. Jim Parker brought damascus steel into the case line-up... I think these limited edition DAM's will be a good bet now. The Stag I got is stunning. Both are in my photos. PS: I bought a 2nd one at www.deadwoodknives.com for $154 and I love Becky at SH but they were $174. Bing you case modle numbers and you'll get your lowest price in seconds... Many time less than a true bid on ebay for real Case Specisl Limited Editions and not commemorative SFO.
