Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hey just wanted to get some discussion started on here so I pulled out two of these Tuna Valley Cutlery Co. congress's that Perry Miller had made by Great Eastern Cutlery before he sold us the stamping. These knives are Cigar Congress's with Slanted Pinch Nickle Silver Bolsters and Nickle Pinned Crest Shields. The blade steel used is a high grade 440C Stainless Steel with two master blades a Muskrat Clip and a Long Wharncliffe Blade and the secondary blades are a Coping & Sheep Foots Blade. I have pictured 2 of the 3 handles that were made Jigged Red Bone & Bocote Wood. I have examined and played around with both these knives they have excellent walk and talk in the blades and have a great Brush Polish Finish. I wish I had a few stags but I havn't got them from my dad yet. I might have some later which I will post later. Please give me some feedback on ways I can approve this group, discussion, or website(being worked on).  Thanks

Yes, they have really made a good one to start out with!

Ryan,

I have a stag version of this knife and I like it! I wondered why that avenue was not explored more by GEC at the time. I guess that it evolved somewhat into the Cuban Castro. I would like to see more of this with lots of the Northfield type detailing that we have come to love. This one had satin finished blades which was ok and maybe helped keep the cost down. I'd like to see it with a true clip instead of the muskrat clip but I guess the true clip might stick up a bit too much.

I think that we are all excited for you and your family and are anxiously awaiting the awesome knives that are to come!!! Best Wishes!!!

I like the looks of these, Ryan.  I missed out on a stag version, and I'm still tempted by the braz cherry version.  I think another run of these in 1095 would sell well.

How about other steels?  Anything else that tickles your fancy?
