Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I see that two of the new Templars are shown under the New Pattern's on GEC's website.  They have the Stained Glass Percrylic and Kryptonite Acrylic handles shown. These are truly a departure from their other knives. What does everyone think of them? I wasn't sure at first but have to admit that they are growing on me.

I just don't know.......  The "Muskrat" style blade is a favorite of mine, so I like the blade.  And I like the Acrylic/Perylic handle covers.  And the bolsters are rather interesting.                But I just don't know.

It's a very different knife, I'll say that for it, and I don't dislike it.  I guess I'm just undecided.

I do like the very well done art work that GEC has made up to go with the Templar knife.  Outstanding!!

Dave,

I'm with you I think. I believe that I will have to get one of these and check 'em out.

I like the artwork ALOT..The blade etch is sweet.  I see a black gold in our future :)

You're right Tom.

The only way to know for sure is to get one and try it out.
It might be a real winner, and if it is I wouldn't want to let it slip by.  Interesting creation.

Congratulations Morrie!  The Stained Glass is a good choice.  Let us know how you like it.

Even though I am not much for single blade knives and even less for "plastic" handles, the bolster treatment is very interesting.  Somewhat like the Bulldog barndoor hinge bolster on the celluloid toothpicks.  I am glad GEC finally tried this style of boster, it shows they are creative, flexible and not afraid to try something different.

Old post, but I love the looks of these knives. I'm usually just into the natural materials, but these knives look great. I'd love to see a Great Eastern Cutlery brand Templar with black micarta scales, and the stainless blade.

Now that would be a perfect tackle box knife.

To Those of you that have bought this knife, what do you guys think?

P.S.

If GEC would do that, I would get one for my grandfather, he likes my GECs. :)

I'm tickled with mine, Johnny.  Have only carried it twice I believe but I do like it.  It's my 1st acrylic and probably won't be my last.  I too would love to see them do a 48 in stainless, but I'd favor natural scales.

Thanks Bass, I really like the looks of these knives, but I'll wait for the stainless. I'd like to see some natural scale material myself, but I have my doubts. Thanks for the pic.
