There is a small preview of the French Kate knife on the GEC web site. I think it will be a boot knife as in boot shaped knife. One end looks like a sleeveboard. What does everyone else think?

We are going to guess a Ladies leg knife.  And thanks for the heads up that she is making an appearance.  Her first dress is in red!!

Jan,

I should have been more specific, that is what I meant too - at least I think we're talking about the same thing.

Great minds think alike!!

Actually,if I'm not mistaken, this will be "Fuschia Jigged Bone".

Bob

Red sounds more fun!!

And here she is.....

Jan,

You hit the nail on the head with French Kate. It'll be interesting to see what handles GEC will use on this one and if this knife will evolve with different or more blades. No dead skunk handles though!

Tom

LOL,

I am a fan of the old dead skunk but the new one...not so much.  I heard someone say that the red with black pin stipes would be nice for this and I would have to agree.  She should come with a GEC garter!!

Jan,

Now I am just the opposite. I really like the new Dead Skunk. It seems more like the lava lamp acrylic. But I do agree that a GEC garter would help sell the Kate's. Red Hot handles like the Templar short run might work for me. If the boot opens a beer all the better!

ROTFL    What is it with ya'll?  Beers have twist off tops and GEC makes a bottle opener.  Don't use the pretty lady to take take the top off your beer.  She wasn't a bartender.
Point taken Jan. No need to scuff up Kate's shoes I guess. But if she was an EDC maybe? My understanding is that Kate was much more than a bartender! Did they even have paved sidewalks back in Tidioute in those horse and carriage days? Her shoes may have seen much worse than beer bottle tops!
The Bottle opener reference goes back to the historical purpose of this knife pattern. Carrie Nation wasn't actually a contemporary of French Kate, but she was a big part of the reason, historically, for this pattern. And also,I believe GEC Knives are built to be used.
