Robert, Oscar needs to stop messing with them snakes!
Glad everyone at yuor home is getting back to normal Craig
Thanks for the tip Robert!
A good way to help your dog, if bit or stung, is by giving him/her a table spoon of clear, children's Benadryll {Diphenhydramine HCI / Antihistamine} and a baby asprin. Be sure to tell the vet you have done this, when you get there. This in no way takes the place of the Vet's visit but if you can't get to the vet until the next day, this will help. Vet approved.
Sorry to hear that Robert! Glad he's doing fine now! Yeah, same with us, we won't spare the expense for Sophie.....we'd do without something else first.
Craig, my dog Oscar, got bit by another snake last week. Well another trip to the Vet's and another $50, he's doing fine now. That's twice this summer, at $50 a pop, or should I say "Bite". Well, we love him, no problem. Darn snakes.
Thanks guys. I'm still felling down after the whole thing. First Cass with her back surgery then this.
First few days she was in some pretty bad pain, but Cass is doing much better today. She's been shuffling around, but still needs to get bed rest after a short time. But it's progressing fine. Each day is better. She also feels bad because she can't pick Sophie up yet.....she can't lift anything more than about 8-10 pounds for a while and Sophie is 11 pounds.
Sooo, we're keeping the faith.....because without that what else is there?
OMG Craig! My heart stopped just reading it. I am so happy the princess will be fine. I know she has forgiven the mishap and I also know the flashlight will always be there now. Hope Cass is doing well also
Craig sounds like Ron has some sage advice. I'm glad Sophie will be fine.
Even though I no longer own a dog. I am a dog lover and I was born in the Year of the Dog in the Chinese calendar.
I joined just to comment on Craig and Sophie's recent misfortune. While I am saddened to read of Sophie's encounter with Mr. No Shoulders, I am at the same time happy to hear that she is going to be okay. Living at the base of the mountains like I do, I have had several friends lose their dogs to rattlesnake bites. Nasty critters, snakes. They have always given me the heebie jeebies. And I just don't like 'em! Like 'em even less now that one of 'em sunk their venomous fangs into Sophie!
And, Craig. Give yourself a break, my friend. Thankfully she's going to be okay and I can assure you that she's already forgiven you AND the snake.
How's Cass doing? She's been in my thoughts and prayers this past week. Having undergone a spinal fusion a short while back, I know that back surgery can be pretty painful. So, I hope she's doing well and getting lots of rest.
Bottom line: I just wanted to check in and tell you to hang in there, my broster. The rain will stop soon. I guarantee it!
