I said "rabbit" not "Dinosaur".....lol
You bet, shears work well. A big rabbit leg can be harder to cut through than you think.
A decent pair of pruning shears would be ideal. I know Kitchen poultry shears would be fine but then those of for birds! LOL
Tobias, that knife right there would work well. I use a fixed blade the most at cleaning game but that's just because I don't get to carry one too much during the spring and summer. A squirrel is a lot harder to skin than a rabbit. A 7"-8" fixed blade on small game is all you need. I use a pair of cutting pliers to cut off their feet. This is a safer way than using your knife. That saw on your knife would do just fine.
Okay Robert. What fixed blade and what folder would you suggest for the ideal Squirrel/Rabbit skinner?
How big a blade do you need? I''ve only skinned one rabbit in my life and that was during survival training with the Army. it was a simple matter of a couple cuts and a little tugging. Never tried to skin a squirrel.
I know it has a deer on the handle by I think my Vic Hunter with work fine for a Rabbit or Jack-a-lope!
I am going to a DU Banquet next week. They'll be a bunch of duck hunters there, so it'll be a perfect time to check. My friends make me go to both Delta and DU. I tell them, I wonder if we had a Squirrel banquet would they go....lol
