We were anchored about 150' off the bank fishing in 22' of water, most of the day. the main channel comes in and turns sharply there on the edge of a sand bar. We fished that edge. The center of the main channel is over 100' deep. I have been fishing in this area all my life. After we caught what I thought was enough fish for us to eat, we hit the bank to explore the woods. We saw plenty of deer tracks, that got us excited, with bow season just a month away. The forrest here is open to public hunting. { 60,000 acrers }. Sherburnne Wildlife Area.

This is a few photo's from our little catfish fishing trip on Labor Day weekend. We fished for the smaller fryers. They taste sweet. Cajuns around here call them "Fiddlers", why I don't know. They are great fried whole. We fished in the Atchafalaya River, that is the center of the Basin.

Still no signs of anymore Copperheads, thank goodness. Still keeping a close watch though. But now we're having a problem with Field Mice getting into the house.....which has been happening from time to time for a number of years now. Set the new round traps out that traps and kills them inside the trap, and you throw the whole thing away. We must be getting old, The Field Mice are so cute, we hate killing them.
