Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

When the Combat Ready Knives came out by SMKW I thought "Those would be the Tactical Rough Rider's if Rough Rider made tacticals.

This got me thinking.  Perhaps we should have a discussions  where we could discuss  other SMKW house brands.   I'm not sure there would be enough traffic to sustain an separate group but this might increase traffic to this group.

Smoky Mountain Knife Works House Brands include:

American Hunter

Benchmark

BW Custom (sort of, Brian Wilhoite owns it and he works there)

Cannon Cat’s Eye

Chief

Colt

Colonel Coon

Combat Ready Knives

Cripple Creek

Fox –N-Hound

Indian Head

Marbles

Mykel Hawke (sort of, His knives are made by SMKW)

Ole Smokey

Sawmill Cutlery

Wild Boar

Tobias,

Thanks as always for helping us to keep all this straight and giving us the benefit of your hard earned knowledge!

I did see the Case/Colt, I mean that trapper is so nice...just gorgeous. In fact I have started to look over that Colt line a bit more. they have a lot of stuff out there and its a little bit of everything and a couple of brand new things that really look good.

As an example, they offer two wharncliff Trappers that are stag bone and smooth bone. two really unusual and good looking knives. CT586, 587

What about Wild Boar? I see a few Catalog listings but next to nothing on the brand?

I was going to get a Wild Boar hawkbill  a while back but opted for the Rite Edge one because it was a about 1/2 longer.  The fixed blades are made in Pakistan and I'm a little leery of them.

I have 4 or 5 Wild Boars. They are decent, but I haven't really carried them to test them.
I will post some pics later.

Wild Boar and Rite Edge would be good I guess. They don't show too many of those on the show, probably due to lower $.

Hey I have a question, I know Colt is an SMKW house Brand nowadays. Maybe we should have a thread either here or possibly in Box of Blades , just for Colt. I would be interested in having a spot to talk about them.

I don't have a lot of Colt's, But I think they should have there own thread. I do like the ones that I have.

Here is my favorite Colt, a camp knife in blue bone. I carry this in a sheath, and it is one of the only camp knives around that came without a bail; one of the reasons I like it so much. Now discontinued, but almost identical to the RR equivalent, (less the bail of course).

Nice knife Syd.  That blue bone really stands out.

I wasn't aware SMKW had that many house brands.  I collect Rough Riders and have about 55 of them.  I only have one, a Lady Colt, which I won in a contest here on iKC.  I gave it to my daughter.
