To me, a favorite has to be an every day carry. I have lots of beautiful knives that I like but most of them never get carried. I don't carry a fixed blade very often, When I do I carry a little Bob Dozier personal in D2 (natch) and a horizontal kydex sheath. But the one I like to carry the most is a Microtech Lightfoot Custom Combat DA. I actually have two of them, this is the fancy one with damascus blade. I have another in 154CM which is the one I carry most often. They are both double action. The blade release is so well hidden that most people never figure it out. It opens fast, locks up solid. It's big enough for most any cutting job, small enough to be truly pocketable. Holds a shaving sharp edge well and is easy to resharpen. The titanium and carbon fiber keep the weight down. But the best part is the solid "klunk" when when the blade flies out and locks up.
Boy, some nice favorites showed up over the weekend, while I was working, lol. Nice to see how everyones favorite is a little different, but I think I like them all.
The 124 Buck is a beaut, but I think your LHR is really, really awesome!
This is my favorite knife in my collection. Its a 124 buck. Although I have several knives I really like, I think this one is able to handle almost anything I could throw at it. It is a big, heavy knife. Im a "prepper" for lack of better terms and if there is ever a situation that my survival is put on the line this is the knife I trust.
I may have mentioned this before, but my favorite knife is the Queen #9A.
My first memories of seeing a knife was when my father purchased a new
Queen 3 blade stockman with the amber or yellow handles and I thought
it was a beauty. I couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old, but when
we stopped at the hardware store we all waited in the car while he went in.
When he got back in the car my mother asked what he had gotten and he
pulled the knife out of his pocket and showed her, I was a Queen man for life.
Every since then I have always kept a Queen steel #9A in my collection.
I may not carry one every day but there are always several in my drawer
waiting. If i had to get rid of all my knives but 1, the 9A would be the one
I keep.
And the weird part is I have the same knife in red, black, cherry, stag,
winterbottom bone, wood and several other materials, but they just don't
have the same attraction.
Oh well the joys of collecting.
