That is so cool, Data! (in a morbid sort of way)   Oddly, none of these weapons would be affected by any modern gun bans.

Here's the list of weapons used in Presidential assassinations and recent attempted assassinations.

Lincoln:  .41 Caliber Philadelphia Deringer .*

Garfield: .44 caliber British bulldog revolver

McKinley: .32 caliber Iver Johnson ‘Safety Automatic’ revolver.

Kennedy: The 6.5mm Carcano Model 91/38 carbine

Others that could round out the collection

Ford (attempted):  M1911a1  Colt .45 Automatic

Reagan (attempted): .22-calibre Rohm RG-14 revolver

RFK (Presidential Candidate): .22 caliber Iver-Johnson Cadet

And yes the Philadelphia Deringer was spelled with one "R"  At the time it was  known as a muff or pocket pistol.  Because of the Philadelphia Deringer's popularity and widespread use, the name Deringer became a generic term  for any small pistol; with many people either misspelling the name.  Supposedly other makers started using the now generic misspelling in an attempt to sell their muff/pocket pistols as Derringers and avoiding TM infringements!  When Remington marketed its more famous over/under as a  Derringer the new spelling stuck forever!

Wow, Data! A great pistol to go with a great collection. I have never heard of anyone assembling that group of firearms together. THAT is really interesting.

That is nice Data.  In really great shape too!  I'm happy for you.

Many of you know that I have been working for quite some time to collect the 3 handguns and 1 rifle models that assassinated Presidents.  The oldest and perhaps the pride of the collection arrived today.  The final piece of the collection should be arriving on Wednesday.  Then there will be framing for display and security and insuring, etc.  But I wanted to share this pic as I am very happy with this 150 year old find.

Nice one Jeremy.  It is similar to my Ruger LCP.  I really like it.

A friend of mine calls it "A just out of knife range gun."

Pretty nice Jeremy.  If it is accurate out to 25 feet then that's all you really need!  The .380 ACP is strictly a defensive round in my book. (or an assassin's round!)  Truly a point blank killer!

I was able to add a small hand gun to my arsenal today. I decided to get a pocket sized gun to carry concealed. Although I like my Taurus PT111 G2, 9mm, I wanted something that could be concealed a little easier. I go this PT 738, .380 today that fits the bill. This is another Taurus but is made in the USA. It fits easily into a coat pocket or even into my front pants pocket. I am anxious to get out to the range to put a few rounds through it.

Hey folks, good news.  A federal district judge has ruled that the ban on interstate sale of handguns is unconstitutional.
