Hi Stephen, thanks, the blade has silver overlaid and pinned/riveted in place the blade is not etched I don't use the technique in any of my work but I do hand engrave most pieces so the silver is engraved as with the brass surrounding the ivory. The silver handled knife has engraving on the steel of the blade for comparison.
