This is my second attempt at installing custom scales on a Seahorse Whittler. I used end grain English walnut and oiled it. The shields are 22 k gold plated miniature (10mm.) Indial Head Nickle replicas.

This is my first attempt at installing custom scales on a knife. I used antique Southern yellow pine; my favorite wood. The shield is the end of a brass 9mm cartridge. I installed shields on both sides.
Far from perfect, I'm relatively pleased with my first effort, and look forward to someday installing fossil scales on a Seahorse Whittler.
