"Past Glories" series of knives the "Side Kick." By Tom George

I call this "Past Glories" series of knives the "Side Kick." and is
my versions of a 1850's to 1870's Mountain Man big game hunting knife or Frontiersman Buffalo Skinner camp cleaver knife. This multi purpose knives are an all around hunting, skinning knife some with a small meat cleaver or hatchet. Unlimited, this knife would not only be used for hunting and camp work, but because of it's size, it also could have been used for survival from man or beast.

The inspiration to make these cleaver knife came from my great grandfather born in 1836 and was a blacksmith for a time in the 1800's as was his son, my grandfather born 1876 the same year as the Little Big Horn. My grandfather had told me when I was a kid, that some of the mountain men of the time could not, or would not, pay the big money for an English or custom U. S. made Bowie knife so they did the next best thing and would buy a very good meat cleaver like a German made F- Dick and have a blacksmith like my great grandfather or someone with a good stone grinding wheel grind down the cleaver blade to a very sharp knife blade
