@ Peter .. as a rule .. i'm not that fond of serrated edges.

HOWEVER

.. due to it's extreme functionality .. this is an exception !!!!

"MADE FROM A 10" FILE. HOLLOW GROUND ON ONE SIDE. OTHER SIDE IS FLAT TO THE EDGE WITH THE FILE MARKS ALL THE WAY TO THE EDGE. THE EDGE HAS THE FILE TEETH ON IT. LIKE A SERRATED EDGE. WILL CUT ROPE WITH EASE. VERY EASY TO SHARPEN. JUST SHARPEN THE ONE SIDE THAT I SHARPENED AND NEW TEETH WILL COME UP. DOES NOT GET ANY EASIER THAN THAT. THIS IS A CUTTING FOOL OF A KNIFE. "

hey D i know you said you dont prefer serrated but if i remember after sometime of use those serrations are naturally their from file...i could have sworn with use they wear down. you can ad eventually your own edge.

Retention of the serrations present in the parent file result in the "teeth" shown here.
