Lars,

Is the swedge, that false edge up top, sharpened by any chance? If it is you could administer a very nasty back slash! Regardless, that pointed tip would devastate anything that got in its way, coming or going, I'm sure!

Cheers, my friend!

Thanks all for your comments on this piece - it affirms my own initial views on the piece. For me, it sort of has one foot in the Fantasy category with the other in the Fine Art group. Regardless, I think I'll hang on to this one for awhile - not seen one like it.

And as Ron implies, gotta keep the pointy end outward!

Lars,

Your description of this knife is perfect. Definitely unique! And, also, definitely stretching the boundaries of any conventional sense of what a Bowie knife "should" look like.

Maybe it's just those green scales that are throwing me? Perhaps a more conventional material for the grips would tone it down a taste?

But, what the hey! Why tone it down at all!? This Bad Boy is what it is and I doubt that any apologies are needed.

I can only add that I would hate to find myself on the business end of this guy under any circumstance! Ouch! If ya know what I mean?

I agree the green sets off the art aspect of it.  I am almost willing to bet it is actually a good feel in the hand
