I have to admit that the Spyderco general design didn't appeal to me for a number of years. Frankly, I thought that their aesthetics were "strange". Over the years, their design concept grew on me...until I bought and used a few and discovered that Spyderco is a fantastic knife company. I now own several Spydies and love them all. One of my most favorite of Spydie designs is the Delica 4. This medium-sized knife makes the absolute perfect EDC companion. Nice, slim shape; it doesn't print at all. The drop point design is an ideal cutter...and the VG-10 steel performs VERY well. The FRN handle scales have a wonderful checkering on them...and the knife really "sticks" to your hand quiet well. The spine jimping on the blade is "perfect" and only adds to the knife's overall "gription". One of the things that I like most about the V4 design is that it improved the pocket clip. The new version gives you a lot of carry options. I'm also going to APPLAUD Spyderco for adding the steel liners to this design. Some people have criticized the V4 because of this, saying that it adds unnecessary weight. Contrary to their view, I think that it makes for a better, stronger knife. The little bit of added weight isn't noticeable at all. This is an EDC knife; most citizens don't run around with 70 lb. packs, an AR-15 and a ton of gear all day. So...the trade for the stainless steel liners is a GOOD ONE. If you haven't tried out this extremely high-value knife, you are really missing out!

Recently bought a delica 4 and I completely agree with you about the steel liners. If you're going to war, you're not going to bring a delica :)
