Mike- A little more info on your knife-Your knife was made by Alcas Cutlery of Olean, New York. The company was started in 1948 by Alcoa Aluminum and W.R. Case & Sons. This joint venture was originated to manufacture high quality cutlery as a companion to Alcoa's cookware line.Actual production began in early 1949. In 1951, they began using the trademark "Cutco". In the mid 1960's Alcas began to manufacture folding knives on a small scale. These were made with private labeling, & some with the"Alcas" mark. In 1972,Alcoa bought out the W.R. Case interest. In 1976 ,Alcas purchased the "Kabar" trademark. The firm is still in business. The Rohrer knife was a limited edition exclusive to  Rohrer's Distributors, Inc which I believe was a beer distributor in New Castle,PA. Not sure how many were made, but I haven't found one with a serial # above 500.There is a customer service number for Cutco where they might provide further information-

Thanks John, Jan.  I had seen the paper work on the internet but ALAS it did not have it when I got it.  I will  copy the picture to my knives folder and possibly print a copy to include with the knife for future owner.  I will also copy your info to go along with the info obtained by John  :-)
