I haven't actually tried its cutting / slicing capacities yet.  I actually just took it out of its packaging & wiped off the nasty grease they put on it (didn't even wash it, which I definitely would want to do before allowing it to touch any food -- that grease, ugh (but it had no rust, so there's that).

Anyway, the blade is 5mm thick (about 0.20"), & the knife itself is 16 3/8" overall (way bigger than any other gaucho I've seen, which also makes it one of the coolest gauchos I've ever seen).  Might have to try some pumpkin chunking after Halloween to test it out...
