This is the mark that makes this get juicy. I recommend making friends with a collector named Roy Shadbolt. He's an authority on FS knives and has a really good website chuck full of great information and details. He has an open invitation to anyone who has questions to contact him. https://www.fsknife.com/

I referenced his site - specifically the Third Pattern F-S Knife article under the Articles tab to confirm these marks. The marks specifically are these: ⩚B2. Together these are ownership/inspection marks - the Broad Arrow and B2. The Broad Arrow is the British owership mark, which is centuries old, and B2 is the Wilkinson's Sword Co. LTD mark.

Now this is where it really gets good for your knife...in this same article, Roy explains that this mark is most often encountered on Second Pattern F-S Knives and indeed in this respect is the most common marking found on any war-time F-S. So this along with the handle design lends a lot of weight to this being most likly a P2 knife.  Roy adds one final word on the ⩚B2 mark in general, that it is often poorly stamped - often leading some observers to misinterpret the marking. Like yours here.

He has lots more to say about P2 and P3 knives, and I can't encourage you enough to book mark these links and make friends with them. It's looking like you have a real special piece here, and I am just jazzed you shared it with us.....thank you.

One more thing...after posting last night, I did a search on F-S knives here on iKC. There is quite a bit of info and other collectors sharing their pieces as well. It could prove fruitful for you to review them and compare to yours just to see if there is any additional collaborating info for you.

If you do engage Roy through his web site, tell him Lars sent you and please tell him I said howdy.

Enjoy Amigo!
