Well, that article in the Indy was a surprise, I certainly thought that poster was responsible for a lot of the recruiting in 1914.
Further .. I believe the poster in the background is a bit wonky.

It showed up on my facebook page JJ, don't know where it originated though.
I don't do Twitter or Instagram.
Facebook?
Might that be Twitter?. .. Instagram?
Well done Manx, I spent 10/15 minutes on the police site and couldn't find that post.
Probably fake but these days, well who knows!
I don't know, I think there's a very good chance it's real -- with year 7 students mocking the anti-knife policies (or any number of other things, including law enforcement) by being smart-arses & "turning in their scissors". Totally sounds like something a lot of my friends & I would have done in junior & senior high.
And the joke's on the Ealing Police. If so, this could explain why Steve couldn't find it on their page -- someone was bound to catch on eventually.
I am thinking fake. I just spent an hour surfing Ealing Police's Facebook page, and while they post on it A LOT...I saw nothing mentioned on this. And honestly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was true.
Should be easy enough to check, John, depends on when it was posted.
