The RC-4 from RAT. What a superb smaller survival knife! I've long been a BIG fan of the OKC Rat series. Comparatively, as fine as the OKC versions are, the RAT editions offer the user some small...but well thought out improvements. I've always felt that the OKC editions' handle was a little short for my hand. RAT improves on that by adding some length to the handle. The handle features linen micarta scales...with some nicely colored spacers between the micarta and the blade. The 1095 blade features a very nice textured powder coating. It is VERY well done and will serve to protect the knife from adverse conditions. The sheath system is one of the nicer improvements (though the OKC versions worked very well). Shown here is the molle version (I prefer this as it works with my pack system very well. The sheath is very well formed kydex and will be incredibly durable. All in all, the RC4 has a little higher level of fit and finish than OKC's otherwise excellent knives. One of the nicer things about the RC4 is that it provides an exceptionally superb combination of size, weight and toughness. It isn't too big or too small; as Goldilocks said, "This is just right".
