What a great blade design! The SOG Aegis represents a nice step forward in decently-sized EDC knife options! Compact and comfortable, the zytel handle is reasonably "grippy" and ergonomic. The handle also houses the Arc-Lock system and a "safety". Like most folks, I generally find this to be an unnecessary feature. It doesn't detract from the knife; I just don't use it. The Aus8A blade is a perfect shape for general EDC. It is flat-ground...which helps it slice through a variety of common materials. The thumb-stud is nicely positioned and the blade deploys super-fast (assisted-opening). Like most of SOG's popular designs, the pocket clip is a bayonet design and rides very low in the pocket (such a polite companion!). Another thing that makes this a wonderful EDC knife is it's weight; this little buddy is so light that you can forget that you have it on you! The version shown in this photo is the most "plain" of Aegis designs and SOG offers a nice variety of colors and finishes. If you don't have one, you should check it out! Price-wise, this maybe cost me $50...so we're talking a high-value knife.
