Good read DLKG - very informative. I am certainly not up to date on who all the knife players are in the various markets or segments....but this one looks pretty decent. Similar to Kevin, I would have surmized Bushcraft maybe...

Tuya is one of those brands with a budget line, and a pricier line.  As I understand it, they're a Chinese family-owned brand that collaborate on knives with American designer & distributor Dave Warren of Warren EDC.  They tended toward the older model of having most knives at certain price points, though they seem to be changing that up a bit.  This particular knife is unusual for Tuya because it's a fixed blade.

Unfortunately, the handle is just a bit too small for my liking, which is common with so many knives these days, but especially Chinese knives.  I wear 2XL gloves, so it might work for a lot of people, but I'd prefer a bit more length & girth on a hard use knife handle.  Of course, even TOPS Knives are going with a lot of smaller handled knives these days, so I'm not going to judge point of origin as the only factor here...  Regardless, I'm sure my hand would eventually cramp up if I had to use this knife for too long, & that's not ideal.

Also making me say "probably not" in relation to whether this would be a good survival blade is that it's made of D2.  D2 can be incredibly tough, but can also be a bit brittle, depending on the heat treat, so I just don't know which one this is yet -- I haven't put it through it's paces...

I don't regret the purchase though -- I think it was around $65.  And something I've really come to appreciate is that little lip on the back of the Kydex sheath, it's really smooth & works really well!

I had not heard of this company before, but I like the looks of the blade. Survival class?
