Spot on, Kees -- especially when it comes to the American rejection of sex & embrace of violence.  We're a messed up lot over here.

But Jacqueline, your husband was "offended" by someone considering this photo risque to some degree?  Really? 

Anyway, here's what you need to do:  post a photo of your husband wearing a halter top & caressing "le pipe" with his finger.  Because that would be hilarious & awesome [& I bet it would outsell this one].

I am so sorry your husband was offended.  As I stated in our previous conversation, I like the pic and the pipe.  As the owner of iKC it is and always will be my position to make sure all our members and guest are comfortable.  I again feel the pic is fine, I asked for nothing any more risque than this one.  As I have received no complaints from the members, please leave it up and here.  Like John, I love the pipe!

All of that being said I would love for you to stay here with us.  As you can tell we have a diverse membership, we discuss much more than just knives and the guys are right, the pipes you have shown are awesome.

and LOL @ Kees!!  One of the things I love about this community the most is the differences in all of us!

wow......   i am glad i am from the Netherlands    we would never find a picture like this  sensual or too risque  finding a picture like this an erotic picture sais more about the weird fantasies of the person who is looking at it than the picture is

prude  americans.......  really funny

Well on this occasion I can honestly say that it is not simply a picture of a lovely young lady that attracted my attention. I was a pipe smoker until a few years ago and would have liked a genuine calabash pipe. The one that Jacqueline is holding is of a similar shape, though not made the same way.

This is a family friendly site and that is one of the best things about it, some of us , well me really , cannot be described as "sharp minded individuals " but I am sure we all do the best we can to make iKC the friendliest knife site.

I think I would be inclined to describe this photograph as being sensuous and/or erotic. And both of those words have a sexual connotation, as does risque. In my mind a sexual connotation is not necessarily a bad thing. Nor do I find this photograph of a beautiful young woman to be indecent. Suggestive, yes. Indecent, no.

It did serve its intended purpose and piqued my curiosity to look at your pipes. Since I'm not a pipe smoker, or a smoker of any kind, I can only say that your pipe creations look interesting and if I were a pipe smoker I might be enticed to buy one simply because I like your advertising campaign. 

Now that's just my unsolicited 0.02¢ When it comes to disputes of this nature, I am Switzerland. I don't have a side, I only have an opinion.

I was messaged by a certain moderator lady that this image was too risque if in the case that there were "children and grandchildren sitting in laps looking at pics with members". I did respond wholeheartedly and got nothing back.

It is our FB page profile image (for our business) and I've never had anyone else say anything like this. I love this site, but feel maybe it's not for me. I've got 4 daughters, I understand a "family friendly" site as much as anyone...

However, my husband was quite offended and did not appreciate someone referring to this image as risque and wants me to move on and find other "sharp minded individuals", unfortunately.

Wonderful group of people and I certainly hope I didn't offend anyone or anyone's children or children's children. If I did, I sincerely apologize.
