The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I am very new to knife collecting but have found it enjoyable and am excited to learn more. I became involved with knives due to the death of my father-in-law. He was a collector of knives. He bought knives everywhere he went, but just put them in boxes and went out and bought more. I have over 300 knives of all kinds. Bowie, hunting, pocket, and bayonets. I am in the process of cataloging them all. I am looking forward to posting pictures and seeking help on identifying the ones I can't. The help I have been receiving on this site has been valuable. I will probably sell many knives and keep a few I like. How I do that is yet to be detirmined. Shows, auctions, and word of mouth seems all viable. I must first figure out what I have and that part has been exciting. I can't wait to pull the next knife out of the box and discover what I have. For now that where I come from. Looking forward to talking to all who will listen and seek your expertise. The knives I have cross a broad range of groups with many manufactures some I have heard of and some I am learning. Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide for me. I plan on being an active member for a long time.
Mike

Brothers from another mother?? Okay, this is starting to get a little too coincedental--We both live in Champaign, IL, both are knife addicts, both born in December, both love dogs, and probably similar in age. BTW, my mom was also born in December, and my middle name is (wait for it) Michael !! LOL

Happy Birthday!
Despite the journey that brought you to us Michael, we are very happy to have you here. Thank you for sharing as you brought out each piece, as you began offering for sale and mostly as your appreciation grewfor what your father in law collected. I hope today is filled with Joy!
