Hi Paul,

I have a question regarding the numbering of knives.  I was looking at a Case knife that said it was 1 of 2500.  I did some looking around and found the same exact knife from other sites that were also numbered 1 of 2500.  My assumption was that the "1" meant it was the first of 2500 but I must be wrong.  Does the number indicate it is part of the 2500 lot?

Hi Paul,

Thank you so much for the information about the knives and storing them. I had no idea the celluloid material caused problems, I do have a couple so will keep them separate.  I read about Jim Parker, some were not very happy with him.

There are several Sunfish on the AAPK site. One posted yesterday with Mother of Pearl but the price is 800.00.  Just cannot bring myself to do that.

I would really love to go to a knife show to do some knife hunting, maybe they will be a "thing" again.

Nice collection of the Canal St. knives you have, Paul.. I have been able to gather a few of the Canals. 2 folders and a sheath knife.. They are really beautiful.. Such a shame that they went out of business..

Yeah Paul .. all the older stampings are becoming more & more difficult ..&.. when one does find them .. they're out of my budget.
.
You won't believe this .. I found a Catt 3W wrench knife ..in great shape.. in an antique store marked $15.oo .. I got them down to $12.50 .. they had no idea what they had. I pd my bill .. exited the store ..&.. did the "YES" dance.

Cattaraugus 3-W

I've about a dozen old Waterville .. some still in pretty decent shape. Never pd more than $20.oo for any of them.

Waterville sleeveboard whittler jigged bone

Waterville stamp - hyphenated

Union Cut Co. .. precursor to Ka-Bar. Again .. they had no idea what they had.
.
Those deals just are not out there anymore.

These two knives are similar and are likely made in the same factory. They are possibly made by Empire. Timeframe may be 1910. The size of the knife pulls differ slightly.
