"Yes this is the knife with the VL&A on it. It don’t shine like the big polished Bowie knives, it’s nothing fancy just a good quality knife."

About Me
Inherited a W&B knife from dad who got it from his dad. It’s a very nice knife, stacked leather handle cast alum. pommel clip point engraved on left side > V.L.& A. Chicago. I have looked in lots of places & no body to have seen or heard of — Google V.L.& A. interesting history. A high end sporting goods store in Chicago started there second store the other in NY. Chicago opened in 1891 Closed 1960. VLA had to have W&B make a specified ## of knives. Best estimate of age in my untrained eye & mind is between 1900- 1915. I found this sight thinking I could get answers about the knife.
So is there anyone in knife collector that has seen said knife know of its age Or build date.
Interests
Walking the in the woods and on top of a ridge find foundations of homes long gone no cemetery to give a clue when it was occupied. That’s when the PI suit comes out and start Dig-n. Can be frustrating but I enjoy the search.
Other Hobbies
Doing light mechanic work, on me truck or help out a friend.

Welcome, Ronald!  I can't help you with your W&B knife, but it's amazing the information this group can uncover (& often already knows!).  Regardless, there's plenty to find, read, and contribute here.  Good luck with your healing up, & I hope you keep coming back while you do.  Glad to have you here!
