Thanks to a heads up from Jan I just snagged this custom little Buck #305 Lancer from Greg Holmes at Trestle Pines Knives. It is lightly used but is otherwise in excellent condition. Whoever did the customizing did a fantastic job, the transition from bolster to handle is as perfect as a factory job, and the handle itself is smooth as factory smooth bone. Greg also added a bit of class to the transaction by including a nifty little zipper pouch; well done Greg.

This video from Gough Custom Knives just floored me -- his shop is so clean, & his work so measured... This was 12 minutes of video worth watching, especially for those of us who have aspirations to make beautiful knives ourselves.

As some of you may know, recently I have caught the 110 bug. I've been buying older used 110's on eBay out of curiosity.
Well, I love these knives. They're easy to re-furbish, re-task and the variations of handles are countless.
This project will consist of a complete tear down, cleaning, New Damascus blade and scales. Plus, re-tasking the old blade into a usable fixed blade. This blog will be updated as the project progresses.
