Another Name By Any Other...

To paraphrase the Charles Perrault classic Le Petit Chaperon Rouge ..... Over the the Internet and through the stores we hear... the word tactical, as it is applied to knives. I understanding the marketing aspect of using this word as a branding device, wherein "tactical" tends to sell better than… Continue

A Name By Any Other....

I recently had a conversation with a constable during the Winter Olympics, and things naturally got around to knives. After going through the aspects of form versus function, the black and white of certain grey areas, we got around to the idea of the knife as a defensive tool. This chiefly revolved around the idea of the knife being used for Self-Defence, which I contended was a misnomer, and that what people "really" meant was… Continue

Thoughts on the Impending Winter Olympics Preperations

I'd rather live in a personal state of security, than in a Public Police State.

Characterizing

Once you reach a certain level of technical proficiency at any endeavour,
the only thing that separates you from all others is your character,
and how you incorporate it into that endeavour.

JAT (Just A Thought)

It's not a question of whether you believe in God,

It's more of a question of whether God believes in you...

And that will never happen, unless you believe in your Self.

I walked in the shadow of God.

Down a celestial path through the Ages.

Midway past the Age of Perfection,

God turned and told me to leave.

I asked why?

The reply came...

Belief in you is gone,

Your purpose will never be achieved.

Leave now and…

Knives Don't Scare People.....

I had a bit of a revelation while at work the other day. A co-worker used his knife to open a letter that came for him. There was really nothing unusual in that activity in and of itself. However this person received "the look" from most of the people around him, including myself. He looked around at the "shock and awe" upon the faces of the others, and reacted with the ubiquitous WTF? attitude. Since I was the nearest to him, he commented to me... "You non-knife people are so… Continue

Thursday

Thursday:

You just can't seem to get a hold of Thursday;
Monday is Monday is Monday
Tuesday you're recovering from Monday
Wednesday is Hump-Day
Friday is party time
Saturday is the weekend
Sunday is for relaxin'
But Thursday... It's just there.

Ponderings Over The Kitchen Sink

If plates are called saucers, and Aliens travel in Flying Saucers, I wondered if there is a correlation between the two? After all Crop Circle patterns are really nothing more than plate patterns. So, if I can find the right Crop Circle pattern that matches my plate pattern, maybe the Aliens might beam up my dirty dishes and have them cleaned? Merde! My plate patterns don't match any Crop Circle patterns.

Hhhmmmm.....
