Closer to home, the blockade runner Modern Greece sank at a location near NC's Fort Fisher, and when the ship was salvaged a century later a large quantity of bowie knives intended for Confederate troops were found on board. Many are illustrated in the book by Leslie S. Bright, The Blockade Runner Modern Greece and Her Cargo (1977).
