Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Have you ever sold a knife that you still had emotional strings attached to? The continued attachment could be for many different reasons, including it signifying an event in your life, the person who sold/gave it to you or maybe it is simply because you like it.

In many cases, years may have even passed since you turned over its custodianship to another fellow collector, and yet, there is still just something about that knife that speaks to you.

Several years ago I sold an old knife to a friend and fellow iKC member, Roger Russell, when I was changing directions in my collection. I had asked him when he could to send me a picture of it- cause I must have deleted mine and wanted one, don't know why, just for the heck of it.

Well, this morning I log in to my email account and in popped about 7 emails from Roger. Not knowing what he had on his mind, I opened the first one only to find my knife :) The others were several different angles and shots.

The instant I opened the first one- my heart felt the very same tugging it felt the very first time I laid eyes on this beauty.

It's a folding bowie stamped H. Boker Improved Cutlery. Probably 90 to 110 years old, don't know for sure.

Now you can see too why this is a special knife.

Am I the only sentimental one in the bunch here or can you identify a special knife you sold and are still following?

Nah, but I do have a standing first right of refusal. Pretty cool knife isn't it? I've always like odd looking ones, hence my attraction to toenails, wrench knives and Striders LOL. Go figure :)
