Yes I am bummed tonight.

Missed out on a couple of knives via the dreaded eBay including...

one really nice looking old Russell Barlow.

I was daydreaming of sittin' out on the river whittling some with Huck Finn.

I was going back and forth in bids with a guy until the last hour when...no more bids.  I knew he didn't give up.  He was sitting in the weeds waiting.

But so was I.  I was top bid for the last hour and I waited with a big bid in my entry box and my mouse hovering the on the bid ox.  I was ready and figured I would make my lat bid with 10 seconds.  I knew he was doing the same and I knew I had him outbid.

So I clicked with 12 seconds left.  I got anxious.

But I lost the bid.  He bid $17 less than me and won.  I guess the eBay lag was more than 12 seconds.  My bad.

I really wanted that Barlow it looked so nice.

Next time eBay, next time!!!

Brlows will be the death of me!!  Missed out on two more vintage Barlows on eBay today.  Gotta quit chasin those Barlows.  One was said to be 200 years old.  An actual Sam Barlow with the little scimitar on on-the-side Z.  I am hoping someone here won it, I will feel better.  Paid nearly $300 and I just couldn't go that high today.

The other was my back-up choice, not nearly as old.  But went for almost as much.

Miss Jan, I wouldn't have it any other way. I took the pictures and when my little helper finish's her homework I'll post the pictures. I have my Robeson Moose and my Bertram Hen and Rooster baby barlow to post in those groups too.

Frustrating, it happened to me last week on a knife I was bidding on.  I usually wait until the last 10 seconds but I got it in just a bit early and didn't have time to counter before the bid closed.  Always another one out there.

I got lucky last night, I bought two old Case knives and one old Remington Bullet knife and a snapping turtle all for $30 from a little boy. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.
