I got burned a few years ago by a fake Laguiole folder. When I complained, I was told that the name is not protected and anyone can use it on a knife. I don't know but I still feel I was taken advantage of. I gave the knife away, I wish I still had it to show ya'll.

I am like Jan. When I was buying a lot of Case Classics  on ebay I only bought from Jim or Buzz Parker, or from members of the Case Classics Collectors Club of which I was a member, or dealers I knew well that had stellar track records in ebay sales. If they had had negative feedback of any merit, I didn't buy no matter how bad I wanted the knife-

Just last night watched an episode of Antiques Roadshow- A man who appeared to be a knowledgeable knife collector had purchase d a MOP handled Will & Finck knife for $300 several years ago which would have been worth thousands in todays market. You guessed it, it was counterfeit.

You know Terry I dont think we have been but I am pretty funny about knowing my dealer and where they but from too.  I am very old school, even on ebay I want to know the dealer I am buying from.  When we bought Case Classics we bought from Parker and a select group of older collectors that we knew purchased from him. and I learned then that a dealer you know, that knows your collection is as important as the money to pay for a knife is.
