The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I posted pics of this in the past but I have some new (cool) info to add.
I bought this nice small toolkit a few years back. Expensive but I really liked it. Problem was I didn't really know anything about it.
Knife is permanently attached and the six diferent tols affix to the opposite end from the blade.
Twist, click and you're in with the drill, file whatever.
But it really isn't substantial enough to use as a kit of tools. Maybe for whittling but not anything bigger right?
Well in the latest issue of Knife World newspaper I found an article about knife repair toolkits and ads for various kits.
Lo & behold there was my Napanoch Knife Repair Toolkit. They made kits with six or eight tools. The larger kit had a hacksaw with two blades.
The kits are pre-WW I, more than 100 years old.
Wish I could find out who Leon Hanna was but what a treat to find out it is a repair kit to fix knives. Makes sense.

Knife world has such great artcles for this information. I just love getting this one every month
Lee, I found a Civil War Hobo, on AAPK. It's more $ than I want to spend. Real nice though. I just bought an old Camillus Hobo.
You know, I saw one somewhere, I just can't remember where. I'll try, to find it.. I had never heard of one until I saw it for sale. I have a 4 line Camillus Hobo on the way to me. Real old.
p.s. Robert I'm still looking for this one
Press-Button Knife Co. "One Armed Man's Knife" AKA Civil War Veteran's Knife
It's an old time hobo type initially made for Civil War veterans who lost an arm and still had to eat!
Robert I have bought a few knives from AAPK but not from this seller.
The pics on this Hobo are beautiful. Is this the kind of thing you are looking for o do you like sets? (there is a picnic set further down)

Let me know and I will keep my eyes open
Lee
Sounds great, I had found two Russells but you didn't respond in time. One went for around $100 and the other for $75. I'll keep looking, while I'm looking for Hobo's.
Hobo's are so cool Robert. Good find on the German WW I kit. I will try to visit more if my eyes allow.
Real neat, Lee. Just think of it, over 100 years old. What a story the old tool kit could tell. I recently, started collecting vintage Hobo's. My center piece is a WW1 German Hobo from a soldiers mess kit. Please find time to spend more time with us. I miss your "post' and friendship.
